Adair of Loughanmore:

 

ADAIR, Thomas Benjamin, Esq., of Loughanmore, Co. Antrim, born 1776; married in 1806, Amelia, 2nd daughter of Lieut. Col. Benjamin Adair, Royal Marines, and has issue:

                                       Charles, late a Captain in the 33rd Foot.

                                       Thomas Benjamin, in Holy Orders

                                       William Robert, Lieut. in the 67th Foot

                                       Millicent.

Mr. Adair is a Magistrate for the County of Antrim, and served as High Sheriff in 1801.

Lineage:

This is another branch of the ancient family of Adair.

BENJAMIN ADAIR, Esq., of Loughanmore, who married Anne, daughter of Waterhouse Crymble, Esq., of Ballygillock, Co. Antrim, was father of

THOMAS BENJAMIN ADAIR, Esq., of Loughanmore, who married Margaret, eldest daughter of Charles Crymble, Esq., of Ballygillock, Co. Antrim and had (with two other sons, Benjamin and William Robert, and two daughters, Anne and Elizabeth) an eldest son and successor,

CHARLES ADAIR, Esq., of Loughanmore, who married in 1776, Millicent, eldest daughter of Henry Ellis, Esq., of Prospect, in the County of the Town of Carrickfergus, and had issue:

                                    Thomas Benjamin, now of Loughanmore.

                                    Henry.

   Arms:-      Per bend, or and arg. three dexter hands, couped at the wrist, gu.

   Motto:-      Loyal au mort.
