The Following
Presentments Were Agreed to: |
We present the sum of
six shillings and two pence to be raised off Lower Half Barony of Dunluce and paid Thomas
Gernon for collecting the cess.
We present the sum of eight shillings
and nine pence half penny to be raised off the Upper Half Barony of Dunluce and paid
Robert Hamilton for collecting the cess. |

"Alexander McNeill" is in G. Millar's
list described as High Constable and Bootmaker, residing on the South side of Church
Street. In the County Antrim List of Voters of 1790, Alexander McNeall of Ballymoney, a £10 freeholder, for lands at Druckendult and Cross, voted for
Leslie and McNaghten. |

"Robert Hamilton" is in G. Millar's
list described as a Carpenter residing on the South side of Church Street. He was a
great great grandfather of James B. Hamilton, Solicitor, Ballymoney, and died in 1802,
leaving considerable property. At the election of 1790 Robert Hamilton,
Ballymoney, a £10 freeholder, voted for Leslie and McNaghten. |

"William Hamilton" resided in the townland of Moneygobbin, near
Ballymoney. He died in 1816 or 1817. The Hamiltons of Moneygobbin
were a well-known family. None of them are now known there (in
1934). At the election of 1790 William Hamilton of Moneygobbin, a £10
freeholder, voted for Leslie and McNaghten, and at a meeting of freeholders of the town
and parish of Ballymoney, held in support of Mr. Leslie's candidature in Ballymoney on the
26th April 1790, William Hamilton was Chairman. |

"Thomas Gernon" of Brayhead, a 40/- (forty shillings) freeholder for lands in
Dunaverney, voted at the 1790 election for Leslie and McNaghten.
At a meeting of freeholders of the Parishes of Dunluce, part of Ballywillin and part of
Ballyrashane, held on the 26th April 1790, in favour of Mr. Leslie's candidature, Thomas
Gernon was Chairman. |

"Billy Neill, Harp and Crown Inn," is in G. Millar's list described as residing
on the South side of Church Street. |

"Andrew Loughlin," of Dervock, a £10 freeholder for lands in Carnaff and
Dervock, voted at the 1790 election for Leslie and McNaghten. The Loughlins of
Dervock, were a well-known family. |

"Jack Calderwood" is in G.
Millar's List, described as a gentleman residing in Head of Town,
west side. where Northern Bank is at present. Millar
described the present High Street and Townhead Street as
"Head of Town". John Calderwood of Ballymoney, a £10 Freeholder,
voted at the1790 election for Leslie and McNaghten. According to the
Ballymoney depositions in the McCance manuscripts in the Public Record Office, Belfast, he
was a member of the Society of United Irishmen. In a list of County
Antrim Jurors in 1797, marked by the Crown, the name John Calderwood is marked
"c," which signified "bad in every sense of the term". |

William Henry, of Bravallen, a £10 freeholder, voted at the
1790 election for Rowley and O'Neill. |

"Jamie Moore" is in G. Millar's
List described as a Brewer residing in Main Street, West side, where McCoubrey's premises are at present; his Brewery
Offices were on the opposite side of the street. There is also in the
list another "Jamie Moore," residing in Piper Row (now Charlotte Street), north
side, a tanner and afterwards Sheriff. No James Moore of Ballymoney voted at
the 1790 election. According to the list of voters at that
election, there were quite a number of freeholders in the Manor of Dunluce named
"James Moore." |

lands of Ballytibbert, who voted at the 1790 election for Leslie and McNaghten. |

This is the
first time the records are confirmed by the signature of the Seneschal of the Manor who
presided over the Court Leet. Adam Hunter, Esq., of Ballymagarry - £10
freeholder, lands Ballynarris, voted at the 1790 election for Leslie and
McNaughten. He was Agent of the Antrim Estates at this time. |

George Hutchinson was
Foreman of the Jury at the two Courts in 1798. He was not on the jury at the
Easter Court in 1799, and now appears as Seneschal for the first time.

"Bob
Gamble" is in G. Millar's list described as Brewer and Baker, Main Street, east
side. He lived about where O'Kane's motor (Ford) premises are now.
His Brewery was in Piper Row, south side. Robert Gamble, of Ballymoney,
a £10 freeholder, voted for Rowley and O'Neill at the 1790 election. Robert
Gamble and William Cramsie signed, with four others from Ballymoney, a notice to the
public, in the independent interest, in connection with the 1790 election, sneering at a
resolution passed at a meeting in Ballymoney in favour of the candidature of Mr.
Leslie. Robert Gamble afterwards lived in Church Street and died in
1828, aged 73. |

Coldrough (ie., Coldagh, near Ballymoney), a £10 freeholder for Lands in Ballybrak, voted
for Rowley and O'Neill at the 1790 election. |

Joseph Reynolds, of
Drumafivey, a 40/- freeholder, voted for Leslie and McNaughten at the 1790
election. The family is still resident in the Townland of Drumafivey, Co.
Antrim. |
